The Historical Books Joshua
Chapter 21
¹ Then the heads of the families of the Levites came to the priest Eleazar and to Joshua son of Nun and to the heads of the families of the tribes of the Israelites; ² they said to them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, "The LORD commanded through Moses that we be given towns to live in, along with their pasture lands for our livestock."

Oh God my beloved Father as the head of my family I pray in the name of all Christians that we are given the true message of the Good News not as the fruit of theology that is subject to philosophical argument but as it really is. We need true pasture where to live according to the messages found in the Good News and not according to a variety of Interpretations. Oh Holy Spirit I crave for the pure milk of truth Amen. I thank You for giving me these moments of prayer Amen.
³ So by command of the LORD the Israelites gave to the Levites the following towns and pasture lands out of their inheritance.

Oh God my Father, how ready and available am I to obey Your commands as did the Israelites. I used to wake up at 5.00 am in the morning in order to worship, but many times I find myself slacking and waking up half an hour later. I pray that You give me self-discipline so that I will remain firm in my commitment with You one of love and obedience to Your will Amen.
⁴ The lot came out for the families of the Kohathites. So those Levites who were descendants of Aaron the priest received by lot thirteen towns from the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.

Oh God my Father many people wonder how the Roman Catholic Church acquired so much wealth including property and even money. Among us Christians there are many who donate both money and property to the Roman Catholic Church and in turn it makes good use of and even donates to those in need according to the given situation. I pray that more generous people continue this good example Amen.

Oh God my beloved Father as in verse 4 and in the verses to follow, the clan of the Levites continued receiving lands and towns from the other clans, in order to be able to sustain themselves and the needs in order to keep the sacrificial offerings to You constant and even for the survival of those giving this service to the people. I pray oh God my Father, for all benefactors in all realms of life, those who donate in material goods and even those who donate by giving their time in service to others Amen. God please impart Your blessings on all volounteers and benefactors Amen.

Although the Roman Catholic Church during the mass on week days and on Sundays receives alot of money it distributes according to the needs of many organizations and people who are known to have particular needs in its parishes. Amen. God bless all benefactors Amen.

Oh God my Father, when the Merarites received twelve towns, I imagine that this also includes the people of the town. During our times we are also numbers on a large grid board. Although we cannot be sold or purchased, our social and economic future is determined by ministers and world leaders who may view the members of society as numbers. I pray that this perception changes and people consider others as people by applying their emotions as much as their brains and logic Amen.

Oh God my beloved Father even though Moses had passed away, Your people remained faithful at least for some time to the rules that You had passed on to them through Moses. I pray that in the years and generations to come faith in You and all that You have passed on to us will remain Amen.
⁹ Out of the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Simeon they gave the following towns mentioned by name, ¹⁰ which went to the descendants of Aaron, one of the families of the Kkohatites who belonged to the Levites, since the lot fell to them first, ¹¹ They gave them Kiriath-arba (Arba being the father of Anak), that is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, along with the pasture lands around it.

Oh God my beloved Father even though Your people of which we are descended occupied the land that You had promised them certain people who had been commanded to be evicted from the land such as Arba still remained in the land, therefore the presence of such pagan and sinful people was still felt according to Your will.
Many times I may do my best to conquer myself in this habit, however I might not be ready to give up on another that might be either of the same level or harsher than than the first. I pray that You give me such a strong will so that I may make a total refusal to sin and the forces of evil Amen.

Oh God my beloved Father I give You all the areas of my life, especially the darkest areas so that You can purify them and keep them for Yourself as a perpetual holding that lasts forever Amen. May there not even one single area of my brain, heart, body and spirit that You cannot have access to Amen.

At first sight one might consider that the descendants of Aaron where given special treatment when compared to other tribes in relation to their entitlement, however when considering that this tribe was chosen to be of special service, to You my God and Father it made sense that they lived of the produce of their livestock and produce Amen.

Oh God my blessed Father as these towns were chosen to be given to the descendants of Aaron, I pray that You choose me to be a property that is totally Yours, and may no other human or spirit try to separate me from You again my God and Father Amen.

Oh God my Father, the Levites who were specially chosen people by You were given special treatment and respect and an abundance of land as property. I pray that during our times, we have more love and respect towards such special consecrated people amen.

Oh God my beloved Father, my soul is thirsty for You and Your presence, even though You are permitting me to reach a point of stability in my life, my soul feels uncomfortable in this world. It is thirsty to be united with its creator, however, it is only in Your capacity to decide when and how my soul is to find its eternal rest in Your pastures Amen.

Oh God my Father doing this time I feel like a person with no family and nobody to share my life. I only have You and my mother, I pray to be able to communicate with You directly like friends Amen.

Oh God my Father I really cannot understand why You gave such a big allottment to the Levites, however this is one of many situations where maybe I do not need to understand just believe. Amen.

Oh brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, when our God and Father, makes a promise, He keeps it. These tribes were all promised their share of the promised land and every tribe and clan was allotted their respectful share, the Levites who were especially chosen by God and who were completely dedicated to God, where given extra lands in abundance.
Oh God I thank You for fulfilling all my daily needs and wants, I have become accustomed to wait on You for a confirmation on what is right and what is wrong and from that which is according to Your will from that which is not. I pray that You continue to guide me my God and Father Amen.

Oh God my Father everything in this life happens for a reason, You provide lands of refuge, and You permit people to seek refuge in other lands such as Malta, I pray that Your will may continue to be done Amen.

We are destroying all that is natural in the name of progress and scientific discovery. Science is trying to create creation or another form of intelligence or creation as in genetics or robotics, however, in the process, we are creating a dunghill of our world, which in time will end up with no moral, psychological or above all spiritual value. It will really end up being a dung hole or hill Amen. Only You can save us oh God my Father Amen.

Oh God my Father even though Reuben was unstable in his ways You still chose his offerings. I pray that even though my sins weaken me I am still an offering to You Amen.

Oh God, my Father the number 12 is very significant, for You chose twelve apostles as Your friends and followers, and twelve Levite clans with their allotted lands, that You saved especially for them. I thank You for choosing such special people and for giving them special tasks and related benefits. I pray that one day You will also call me to do a special task for You Amen.

⁴³ Thus the LORD gave to Israel all the land that he swore to their ancestors that he would give them; and having taken possession of it, they settled there. ⁴⁴ And the LORD gave them rest on every side just as he had sworn to their ancestors; not one of all their enemies had withstood them, for the LORD had given all their enemies into their hands. ⁴⁵ Not one of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.

Oh God my Father, I would like to end this meditation on the 21st chapter of the Historical Book of Joshua with the following prayer:-
Oh God my Father You always keep Your promises. You are always faithful to Your Word and to us the people whom You have been manifesting Your love even before our creation. I pray that You continue giving us victory over our enemies especially over the forces of evil, who stop at nothing to hinder us in our journey towards our heavenly home Amen
